Write Your Own Review By Clicking Here! Product: Website: Brief Description:
Review: Sure, the site looks great and cost an absolute fortune to design and build, but, if no one ever visits, then you might as well have not bothered wasting your time and money. Traffic to your site is everything, pure and simple. Even the most poorly created site will make sales if it sees a reasonable number of visitors every day. But to truly make sale after sale, the traffic you need to draw needs to be targeted. They should be at your site because they are already interested in the subject matter of your webpages, before they visit. If your site is all about dog grooming, then you want people that visit to be interested in dogs and all matters pertaining to dogs. If they are cat or hamster people, then the chances are that you will not make many sales. When people use search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN, they search using specific terms. So, in theory, if they type 'dog grooming', they may well find your 'dog grooming' themed site. In reality, however, they won't! Google currently shows around 2.5 million matched search results for that phrase, hence the chances of your site being found are somewhere between nothing and zero! In terms of being 'ranked' in the major engines, all websites are not equal, unfortunately. Some will have been around a lot longer than you and are run by huge business conglomerates that are willing to spend vast sums of money to get visitors to their site. So, assuming that you are not a huge conglomerate, you need to use every tool that you possibly can to level the playing area, and to tilt the balance of possibility back in your favor. One of the most powerful tools that I have seen for doing this is Search Engine Cloaker. Now, let me say here and now that Search Engine Cloaker is a somewhat controversial tool, and you should be aware of that from the outset. Cloaking is not necessarily a technique that the Search Engines themselves actually want website owners to use. Your purpose, however, is not to keep Google or Yahoo happy. Your job is to promote your business with maximum effect, and Search Engine Cloaker will certainly help you to do that. Many of the biggest online merchants (basically, all of the household names) use some form of cloaking methods in order to stay on the top of the pile, so why shouldn't you? Basically, Search Engine Cloaker will help get your site higher rankings and better search engine listings. It does this by analyzing all the visitors who come to your site, to decide which of those viewers are real people and which are the little robot programs that the Search Engine's send out (aka spiders) in order to analyze and categorize your site for listing in their engine. Once the program decides which category the visitor fits into, it will then redirect the actual human beings wherever you want, while presenting the search engine spiders with 1000s of automatically generated "cloaked" pages. In other words, the software shows the spiders exactly what they want to see when they visit the webpage that you have sent them to, creating thousands of pages that are completely optimized to appear exactly as the spiders want them to appear. It does this 'on-the-fly', so that you server is not filled with thousands upon thousands of such pages, and is even smart enough to produce different pages for different spiders, as all the different engines tend to use differing ranking criteria. All of these pages are then inter-linked with one another, so that, once the spider is enmeshed in the 'web' of pages, it will find masses of exactly the kind of content that it is looking for. Thus, the spiders will view your site as being extremely content rich and search engine friendly. Thus, you should see your site 'indexed' (accepted into) the search engine rankings pretty quickly. Once this happens, then real human users start to see your listings, and they will begin to click on them. However, instead of seeing the cloaked content that the spiders saw, Cloaker will redirect these visitors to whatever site you like. It could be your main sales page, an affiliate link, or even a site set up specifically to garner Google AdSense clicks, or whatever. Now, perhaps you can see why the search engines don't necessarily approve of this sort of technology? They see it as a 'trick' to deceive their spiders, and, as the various search engines all retain the right to 'ban' any site from their ranks or listings, there is a possibility you're your cloaked re-direct page could get banned. Search Engine Cloaker does, however, have a very active Forum on the site, and, reading through dozens of postings, the people who are enjoying hugely improved Search Engine Rankings (and therefore making a lot more money) vastly outnumber those who seem to be having any kind of difficulties. I could not, in fact, find one single posting from anyone who had their re-direct pages banned, suggesting that, whilst banning could happen in theory, it doesn't actually seem to in practice! On top of that, there are techniques that are highlighted in both the members area of the site and on the Forum pages that will absolutely minimize the chances of any such search engine 'slap' having any substantial negative effect on your site. The chances of getting into trouble appear pretty minimal, especially when balanced against the obvious benefits of using Search Engine Cloaker. So, just how well does Search Engine Cloaker actually work? The first thing to say is that this is not necessarily a program from which you will see instantaneous results. You could, but that depends to a large extent on the keywords or phrase that you are trying to gain a listing or higher ranking for. The more competition there is, the longer it is likely to take. For example, returning to our 'dog grooming example, with 2.5 million results in Google; it could take some time to gain a good ranking. If, however, you were to use the phrase 'dog grooming for Pomeranians' then there are 60,000 matches in Google, so you could expect to see your site listed that much quicker. Again if we use the Forum as our guide, some people report seeing their site being indexed less than 24 hours after publication, while others took weeks or even months to list. The worst case for extremely competitive keywords seems to be around six months, which, given that, without Search Engine Cloaker, you would probably never get listed at all, strikes me as being a tremendous result! So, Search Engine Cloaker will get your sites listed much more quickly than the majority of 'standard' search engine positioning techniques. Moreover, the program is automatically updated on an extremely regular basis, to reflect the fact that the 150 or so search engines whose spiders are 'recognized' by the software often change the spiders themselves. The program changes in order to keep up with this. Perhaps surprisingly, you do not even need your own website to use Search Engine Cloaker. The people behind the program in fact recommend that you set the re-direct pages up on a site outside your main one, perhaps using a free website, a few of which are recommended in the members area. The idea behind this is that, should the worst case scenario actually occur and your re-direct url and domain get 'banned' by Google or some such, you would only lose the throwaway free site, and not your main sales pages. Good thinking! This also explains how you can use Cloaker with affiliate programs. Simply set up the re-direct on a free site and point it at your affiliate pages, so there is no risk that those affiliate pages will be 'black-listed'. The final thing to mention is installation. The program does need installing on your server, or onto the server of the free website that you are using. It is a pretty straightforward job if you have done any kind of installations before and there are detailed instructions in the members area (as well as a superb 'handbook' produced completely independently by another program user!). The Cloaker people will even install it for you, should all else fail, although their price is a little bit high, and you could probably get it done cheaper elsewhere. On the other hand, they are the experts, so a little more expensive it may be, but you know that the job is guaranteed to be done properly! Conclusion: The member's area has a pretty active Forum and, judging from the many comments of existing users, it seems to work extremely well by all accounts. Moreover, the Forum is an excellent resource for learning new techniques and tactics for making the program work even more effectively. The bottom line is that Search Engine Cloaker works. From my research, I would say the results that the program produces would require the services of an experienced (that is, expensive) SEO expert, if you wanted to use more 'traditional' SEO positioning methods, to achieve the same results. So, in value for money terms, Search Engine Cloaker is highly recommended. But, don't forget the 'health warning'. Google and their good pals over at Yahoo may not approve of you using Cloaker and, after all, they always have your best interests at heart, right?
