Brief Description:
SaleHoo is an auction site online directory of products. SaleHoo provides access to products sourced from dropshippers, wholesalers, liquidators and manufacturers.

Review:
My first reaction to this site was a very simple one.

Why on earth does anyone need a site that tells them where to get goods to sell on eBay?

After all, if you need to find dropshippers whose products you can sell, you simply need to search the word in Google or Yahoo, and you'll come up with a list of literally thousands of dropshippers from all over the world.

Try it if you don't believe me - I just got over 760,000 results returned in Google.

Same with liquidators - run a search and you'll find hundreds of them in exactly the same way. I came up with 3.6 million results for this one, so it's not exactly as if there is a shortage of liquidators out there.

What the heck is the point of paying good money to join a site like SaleHoo, when just a simple one word, one finger on the 'Enter' key search, will return so many results?

So, I guess that you could say that I approached the SaleHoo website in a pretty apathetical frame of mind, as I already knew that it was something that I didn't need.

I pretty much know already that there would be no point in me buying what SaleHoo are selling, so I can just look over the site like I would scan my favorite magazine. Look it over, read it, then put it down again.

But, the first thing you will notice on the SaleHoo site is that they have a very good video presentation right at the very top of the sales page, which, of course, I watched.

I've got to at least pretend that I did my research properly before blowing SaleHoo off, after all.

But, you know what? It's actually quite good.

Maybe because I am coming at this thing from a no-pressure standpoint - my (not) buying decision is already made - there were two things that I immediately noticed about the video.

First off, it is pretty professionally made and presented. That's a good point because it shows that SaleHoo appear to be a serious outfit who realize the importance of a professional presentation in a sales environment.

It's short and punchy as well - no fluff and straight to the point.

Having said that, of course, it is nothing more than what you should expect from such a presentation put together by a serious online business (although you very rarely get it.).

More important than the professionalism of the presentation was the core message that it contains.

That message is - being a SaleHoo member does actually make very good sense.

First, they list thousands of dropshippers, wholesalers and manufacturers all in one place, all accessible from an easily searched database system built into the member's area of the website.

Secondly, they act as a 'middleman' between you and the product suppliers, thus protecting you against fakes, scams and frauds, the kind of stuff that you really cannot protect yourself against as a small online business owner or private individual.

All suppliers are checked by SaleHoo before they are included in the supplier database.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, SaleHoo have taken a leaf out of the eBay success book, and included a review system, not unlike eBay's own feedback system.

Now, if you are familiar with eBay, you'll know that feedback is the comments that both buyer and seller make about one another after a transaction has been completed.

It's an unbiased assessment of how honestly you conduct your business on the eBay site and it is absolutely vital that you maintain a good feedback rating if you want to succeed on eBay.

SaleHoo have a pretty similar thing built into their system, that encourages other members exactly like you, to post their comments and reviews about suppliers into the database, alongside similar comments from many leading (and sometimes well-known) eBay Power Sellers.

Thus, not only are SaleHoo themselves judging the suppliers within the system, but so are all the users as well. This is an incredibly powerful safeguard for anyone sourcing products for their eBay business, and probably makes SaleHoo worth joining on its own.

SaleHoo also allows members to network directly with one another, so that it is possible to find out from other (perhaps more successful) eBay sellers exactly what they are selling and what strategies they are using to do so.

While running your eBay business can at times seem a very lonely existence, such an ability to network with other people in exactly the same situation is almost certainly going to help you take further significant strides towards success, and much more quickly too.

SaleHoo also includes in their database many indicators to help you know which products are popular and selling right now on eBay. Take this information, add it to what you find from your networking with other members, and you should pretty much have your finger on the pulse at all times.

So, I am not ashamed to admit that in the course of a two and a half minute video, I pretty much made a 180 degree shift of attitude to SaleHoo.

Put at it's most simple, I started off thinking 'I don't see what advantages this will have to my eBay business' and, by the time I got to the end of it, I thought 'okay, NOW I see it'.

And there was one other aspect of their site that helped convince me that joining SaleHoo is (actually, was.) worth joining.

I do lots of reviews of online products, and the overwhelming majority of pitch or sales pages tell pretty much the same story. Maybe you'll recognize this...

It usual goes along the lines of 'Six months ago I was broke, credit cards maxed out, living in a cardboard box by the side of the road' sort of thing.

Okay, the last bit was slightly exaggerated, but you know the story, because you've seen it hundreds of times as well. Then, you'll discover that they are now a multi-millionaire, and read dozens of testimonials saying how the product is the best thing since sliced bread, and how you must buy it now before the price goes up.

Well, SaleHoo does have a bunch of testimonials on their site, but they all appear to be pretty well balanced, normal if I can say that, from folks who have obviously asked the same 'Why' question as you and I have.

As you would expect, they all say that SaleHoo is great, (they wouldn't be there otherwise) but they do so in a reasonably neutral manner, which makes them seem a lot more realistic and genuine.

Of course, I have no way of knowing one way or the other, but they look and read like testimonials from real people, and that is always a good sign that the company have enough confidence in the product to feel that it is unnecessary to slap up a bunch of hype to sell it.

Conclusion:
If you are selling or planning to sell physical products on eBay, stuff that you are going to get from drophippers and wholesellers, then I advise you to subscribe to SaleHoo.

They will protect you against the scammers, point you to the products that are selling and those that are not, and then tell you exactly where to find those products at the best prices.

They allow you, no, encourage you, to network with other members and to report on your experiences with them and with suppliers.

Many of these features are only available to you as a member of SaleHoo, so, you must be a member.

My conclusion is that, if you are serious about making money on eBay, then joining SaleHoo is really the way to go.
